To setup a permanent local configuration file for the Quicklaunch MessageAdapter, follow these instructions.

  1. In your local "C:\ProgramData\QuickLaunch" folder, create the file "Quicklaunch.MessageAdapter.Local.config"
  2. With Notepad, edit the "Quicklaunch.MessageAdapter.Local.config" file and copy the contents from the example below
  3. Update the file with your serial port or TCP/IP settings for your local device
  4. Save the file

Now each time MessageAdapter is updated or changed, it will always look for the Quicklaunch.MessageAdapter.Local.config in the C:\ProgramData\QuickLaunch folder.  If this file does not exist it will use the settings from the Quicklaunch.MessageAdapter.exe.config in the "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Apps\2.0\..." folder
