This guide explains how to automate Webex One-Click Join and Meet Now. This Quicklaunch feature is currently in beta testing with selected clients.

1) Introduction


Webex provides enterprise meeting accounts and

  • Webex enterprise account
  • Quicklaunch Feature Key
  • Selenium Drivers Installed (for One-Click Join)
  • Webex Browser Extension Installed (for One-Click Join)
  • Webex Productivity Tools Installed (for Meet Now)

3) How to Enter a Feature Key

If Quicklaunch has already been installed, adding a feature key is a short process. 

Open Quicklaunch settings by selecting the Gear Icon or selection CTRL + ALT + S on your keyboard.

Select the License tab, followed by the edit button.

Now, enter your provided feature key into the Feature Key field. (NOTE: don't erase your License Key. It is needed in addition to the Feature Key)

Select Finish.

4) Installing Selenium Drivers

Quicklaunch uses Selenium Drivers to automate joining of Webex meetings. We currently support Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers for automated One-Click Join.

First, download the drivers from: 

Follow the Link and the page (Shown below) will lead you to the Google Chrome Driver and Microsoft Edge Driver Downloads. 

1. If you have selected Google Chrome Driver, a page (as shown below) will appear. Select what is shown in the red box.

2. Once in the second location, you will again, Select what is in the red box.

3. That, will then take you to another page where you will select; ChromeDriverwin32bit (As shown Below)

4. Once you have downloaded the Zip-file into the desired location, You will extract the file, (shown below) 

  • Right Click On File 
  • Select Extract All


In the Control Panel, enter "System" and select "Advanced system settings." In the window that appears, select "Environment Variables."

In the System Variables box, highlight the "Path" variable by clicking it. Then select the box titled "Edit." You'll see another window open called "Edit environment variable". Click "Browse" and locate where you saved the drivers before.

Finally, select "OK" on any windows that have been opened in this process.

You've now completed the Selenium Driver setup.

5) Configuring Quicklaunch settings for Webex One-Click Join

When joining a Webex meeting from the Calendar, Quicklaunch uses the login credentials supplied in the Account section of Quicklaunch Settings. If you'd like the Webex meeting to be joined with different credentials, use the boxes provided in the Webex Calendar tab.

NOTE: These options are only visible if you've entered a feature key to unhide them. 

Next, select the browser you'd like to use for joining Webex Calendar meetings. Remember only Chrome and Edge are supported. 

NOTE: When using Chrome, all open windows will be closed every time a meeting is joined.

6) Joining a Webex Calendar Meeting (and installing Chrome Webex Extension)

After you've installed the Selenium drivers and configured Quicklaunch settings, create a meeting that will appear on the Quicklaunch Calendar. Be sure that the meeting is either hosted by the account configured in Quicklaunch settings or that the meeting is already started from a separate machine before testing a One-Click Join from the Quicklaunch Calendar.

This will launch the browser you have selected in Quicklaunch settings. Chrome requires you to install the Webex browser extension the first time it runs. Install it.

Your meeting will then open in full screen on your primary monitor.

7) Configuring Quicklaunch Settings for a Webex Meet Now

You'll need Webex Productivity Tools installed for a Webex Meet Now. 

If it's not already installed on your computer, log in to your online Webex Account. Go to: Support Center > Support > Downloads. Select "Download Windows PT"

Download and Run the .msi file

After installation is complete, start Quicklaunch and enter settings. In License, ensure your Feature Key has been entered. If not, refer to the steps above.

Once your Feature Key has been entered, go to Calendar > Meet Now and select Webex Productivity Tools from the Meet Now Provider drop-down list

Next, add a Meet Now Action Tile to an Action Group. Ensure you select the generic Meet Now from Collaboration.

Within the Action Tile you just added. Change the Meeting Provider to Webex Productivity Tools.

Ensure your Webex login credentials are entered in the Webex meetings tab. Finally, save your settings.

Test the newly added Meet Now Action Tile. Webex Productivity Tools will open, login with the provided credentials, and start a meeting.
